being bold in orange

Alright, so when i bought this shirt i was feeling a little bit bold and crazy - I've seen a lot of images on tumblr of orange clothing and when i saw this i really liked it. I've had these lace shorts forever, they're from river island. I liked the idea of this shirt with these shorts and quiet like it. I'd  probably wear this outfit out for a meal. The reason this image doesn't show the shoes i'd wear is because i honestly didn't really have any shoes i would put with this outfit. However i have seen these really cute orange ballet pumps from h&m which i think would look nice. Leave me comments and let me know what you think!

christmas holidays

Winter 2011 Party outfit

Skirt - Alice + Olivia; Top - Topshop; Platforms - Topshop

        I've decided to do a winter 2011 outfit project. Basically i will choose a few items of clothing and put them together with a make up look I think suits the look and then tell you about my choices. Next i will be putting together an outdoor winter look. 

      From this outfit I'm trying to achieve a quiet simple wintry style outfit. I've noticed a lot of pleated leather skirts around lately and thought one would work really well with a light embellished top. I think the more Gothic masculine side of the leather, against the delicate crystal detailing of the top gives a really pretty finish. Basically the shoes just add to the simple look I was going for, black suede platforms, very relevant for winter and one of my favourite shoe choices at the moment. The make up was basically based on the burgundy lip. Burgundy is one of my favourite colours at the moment and its everywhere!  The make up is beautiful really simple and elegant and looks perfect with the outfit. I'm really happy with the outfit and would definitely wear this (with some knitted tights and a big coat!) Let me know what you guys think. 

first dress i made myself

Okay, so by no means is this dress that good but i was pretty pleased with it, as it was the first dress i made myself. The fabric was just the first half decent i found and i was just experimenting. I actually really enjoyed making this dress, even though its a little to wide and a little to short - i was pleased with the outcome. Please let me know what you think, if i make any more clothing i'll be sure to post a picture and maybe i will have made some progress!

mock interviews

I cannot believe how long its been since i last did a post, such an awful blogger! I've really wanted to post, but not really had any inspiration or time to do so.
Anyway on Friday its our mock interviews and i'm pretty nervous, but my main worry is what to wear! So i was planning on wearing my black skinny jeans, with my sheer black shirt (pictured in my other post) and my tweed blazer. Now, when i've been speaking to my friends apparently black skinny jeans aren't very 'smart'. However, i've run out of time to go out and buy a new outfit. So i need your help, do you think skinny jeans give off the wrong impression and are not 'smart' enough?
The picture above shows two very smart, simple outfits that i think work perfectly for work or an interview and thought they'd be a useful bit of inspiration to anyone like me going to an interview and in a complete dilemma about what to wear. (Plus the outfit above is with skinny jeans and looks perfect!)
